We provide a challenging learning environment to equip our students with the skills to become valued, effective and productive members of their community and confident learners in the 21st century.
On behalf of the school community, I extend to you a very warm welcome to Araluen Primary School. I am proud of this school and feel privileged to work with such wonderful young people and dedicated staff.
Our school has a wonderful community feel about it – we are small enough to know each student and their family by name and big enough to offer all the programs and facilities that larger schools can offer in a caring and supportive environment. Our Administration Building has recently undergone a complete renovation. Click here for a look at our newly renovated classrooms and office spaces.
Araluen provides a wonderful learning environment that challenges students to be their best, whilst supporting them to grow as successful learners. Students are strongly encouraged to develop their learning strengths and follow their passions, whether in Arts, Sport, Science, Writing or Maths. I am extremely proud of the results our students achieve in all areas of their learning, including those results that come from National Testing. Our students are supported by their teachers to aspire to do their very best, take on learning challenges and aim high.
Our school is built on these strong values – EXCELLENCE – RESPECT – RESILIENCE – TOLERANCE. Our school Motto states: “GROWING AS WE LEARN”. We have a strong commitment to developing a Growth Mindset in our students. Araluen Primary School actively uses and promotes 'A School Wide Positive Behaviour Support' Framework that supports our values and creates a shared culture of learning. We work hard to instil these important elements into our students and consider them vital in preparing our students to be hard working, community minded citizens of the future.
At Araluen, we have a tradition of parent participation in, and support for, a wide variety of school activities. We, as teachers, will be sharing with you the responsibility for your child's continuing education and development and invite you to become involved in as many aspects of school life as possible. Please regard your child's teacher as a person whom you may place confidence to advise and assist you throughout your child's time at Araluen. We hope also that through your interest and participation you will come to feel very much a part of our school community.
Should you have any further enquiries about the school, or about your child's schooling, please contact us immediately by email, phone or in person.

Every Friday at 2.55pm, all students and teachers attend Assembly in the Gym. This is a great way to end the week, with student recognition awards, sharing of learning progress and items communicated to families. Assemblies are led by students from the Student Leadership Team. Families are strongly encouraged to attend assemblies, as they are a community event.
